The Cub Scout Academic and Sports Loop program provides both an entry-level and an advanced-level of exposure to a wide range of activities. There are currently 25 different Academic belt loops, and 28 different Sports belt loops. Cub Scouts who go beyond the entry-level requirements for belt loops can earn the academic or sports pins associated with each belt loop. The choice of working on these programs is completely optional with the Cub Scout
